Hello

Welcome to my practice! I'm Alejandra, a bilingual counselor fluent in English and Spanish, with over 16 years of clinical experience. I offer evidence-based psychological counseling to adults in a safe and confidential setting, both in-person and online, from my office in Geneva, Switzerland.

I am passionate about supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds as they navigate life's challenges and discover their own inner strength. I earned my Psychology degree in Caracas, Venezuela and completed a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University in the United States. My career has spanned across the U.S., where I gained valuable experience in outpatient mental health clinics at University of Wisconsin Health (Madison, Wisconsin) and Mount Sinai Hospital (Chicago, Illinois), as well as through my private practice in Chicago and now in Geneva.

As a clinician, I have worked with clients across the lifespan—children, adolescents, and adults—in individual, couple, and family therapy. My professional experience allows me to address a wide range of challenges that individuals face throughout their lives. I have worked with people from various cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual orientation, and gender identity backgrounds, providing inclusive and respectful care.

Throughout my life I've lived in six countries, I understand the complexities of relocating and adapting to new cultures and new environments. This personal experience enhances my ability to empathize with clients who are dealing with the pressures of moving and settling into unfamiliar environments.

I'm here to help you on your journey, whether you're seeking support for emotional distress, relationship issues, or life transitions. Let's work together to create a path toward healing and personal growth.

How I can best help you

My counseling approach is integrative and collaborative. I use a combination of evidence-based methods tailored to the specific issues you bring to our counseling sessions. My training spans various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and advanced techniques in family systems and relational therapy. This broad experience enables me to work effectively with clients at any stage of life. To learn more about the specific services I offer, please visit the Services section.

If you're interested in working with me, please fill out the Contact Me form or email me. I provide prospective clients a complimentary 30-minute consultation, a no-pressure opportunity to explore if my practice is the right fit for you. This session is designed for us to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have about my approach, specializations, and what a typical session looks like. It's an open, confidential space for you to feel heard and to determine your next steps without any commitment.
